The late Mr Lee Kuan Yew commenced Chingay on the 4th February 1973. With the ban of the firecrackers in Singapore, over the years Chingay has evolved to come to include a plethora of culture. Now it is Asia's largest street performance and float parade to celebrate diversity of culture and race.
